What is Pet Sitting?
Pet Sitting is an in-home service where a Pet Sitter visits a home to care for pets. In general this service includes feeding of pets, giving care and attention, playtime and exercise and cleaning up after pets.
Advantages of Pet Sitting
Pet owners are attracted to the services a Pet Sitter provides for the following reasons:
- Pets are happier and more comfortable in their own homes because even if the owners are away the pets are in familiar surroundings.
- Stress levels of the pets are reduced; therefore they don’t lose their appetite and are generally happier and healthier pets.
- Pets receive one on one attention and affection.
- Pets will not pick up parasites from other animals such as fleas and other diseases which they may get from staying at a boarding kennel.
- They are given their own diet and exercise, playtime and grooming that they are accustomed to.
- Older pets which require special attention or medication are cared for in their own environment which reduces stress levels.
- The aspect of home security is very appealing to pet owners. This is provided by the Pet Sitter by collecting mail, switching lights on and off and putting rubbish out.
- Pet Sitting can be cheaper than boarding kennels if there is more than one pet in the household.
